Service Description

Help provide comfort and dignity by volunteering as a friendly listener and supporter. We have various roles available that have differing time and resource commitments. If you do not see a team that fits your schedule or abilities, please contact us and we will discuss the best way you can still support. Please view our volunteer teams below: Companionship Team -Visit with residents – spend time talking, sharing stories, playing cards, doing puzzles, reading, writing letters for residents, watching TV, etc. Dinner Club Team -Provide an evening meal – drop it off or stay and enjoy dinner at 5pm with residents and staff. Shopping Team -Help keep the house supplies stocked – we will provide the list and the money – you would do the shopping for us. Laundry Team -Help keep our laundry needs caught up each week. We have a washer and dryer at Mercy House. Garden and House Plant Team -Share your green thumb – help us keep the Mercy House grounds and interior beautiful. Special Events Team -Help decorate and celebrate resident birthdays, holidays, etc. Comfort Care Team -Assist with bedside and personal care. Training will be provided. Cardinal Team -Help with final hours vigil. Training will be provided.
