Praying Hands

Our Story

Mercy House began with a few community members who have served the homeless population of the tri-county area for many years and recognized a profound need in our community: a safe home where those who are experiencing homelessness can receive hospice services.

We gathered in prayer and felt led to start an organization to serve this gap in our community. Collaborating with Bethel United Methodist Church for housing, we opened the doors to Mercy House in 2022 and through January 2026, Mercy House has welcomed and cared for 36 guests in our hospice program. The hospice program has been paused.

Mercy House is now focused on recuperative care. We will receive referrals from the shelters of individuals needing less than one week of rest due to an acute medical or physical need.

Our Team.

Our Board of Directors at Mercy House is a group of passionate people who seek to lead our organization to give dignity and love to those most vulnerable in our community in the most vulnerable moments in their lives.
